Have you come across the BBC Archive account on YouTube? It’s such a rich and diverse selection of quirky reportage from the 60s, 70s and 80s, like this clip about how to throw a house party. It’s truly wonderful and a reminder of what a valuable institution the BBC is.

Anyway, I’ll get to the point. This video popped up in my right hand side bar the other day.

Apart from being a fascinating window on fashions and TV presenter banter from 1979, it made me wonder if the brief was to create a wooden version of Vitsoe. The shelves with the raised sides. The floating dowel pegs. There’s a similarity, isn’t there?
