No theme this time around, just a few things that caught my eye recently.
I’m a sucker for 70s Italian ceramics. Brands like Franco Pozzi, Gabbianelli, Sicart and similar. Pieces don’t often show up on eBay UK. I guess they weren’t widely distributed over here at the time. So it was a nice surprise to see this Franco Pozzi jug listed. The spout looks ingenious. Unfortuntely, it’s cheap for a reason: there’s a crack and small chip in the handle.
In the Habitat edition a few weeks back I mentioned Peter Nelson. Here’s one of his elegant lamps.
Also in the Habitat round up was a handsome 70s lounge chair with a chrome frame. Here’s something similar. Unlike the Habitat chair, this one doesn’t need recovering.
Talking of chairs, this listing ended yesterday but it looks like they didn’t sell. I first saw these chairs a few weeks ago listed for £80 for the pair. They were relisted a few times, with the price dropping £5 on each occasion. If I needed a couple of dining chairs I‘d definitely drop the seller a line.
I love these marble bookends. One has a chip but that just gives it the feel of an archeological find. When I favourited this listing I was offered a lower price. If you like the look of these (how could you not?) why not drop the seller a line and see what you can negotiate?
I’ve been watching these amazing post-modern candle holders for months. They narrowly missed being included in a couple of previous editions of eBaywatch. Inexplicably, they’re still available.
Another item sitting unloved on the virtual shelves at eBay is this pin art kit. Yes, it’s kitsch, yes it’s so 1970s. That’s why I have a soft spot for it. Friends of my parents had a couple of similar pin art things on their walls when I was a kid. This one is boxfresh and ready for you to make-it-yourself.
That’s it! Happy hunting.
