Even though it doesn’t neatly align with any of The Four Diktats, The Modernist’s championing of great design from the recent past - be it architecture or object - is very decmatic.
I first met one of the founders, Eddy Rhead, back in February when I stumbled on their space in central Manchester. I hadn’t planned to pop in but as a long time reader of the magazine, how could I resist?
It turned out we shared a number of interests ranging from ancient Manchester clubland stories to - more predictably - modernist architecture.
Fast forward to the summer and a few more encounters, notably during several of The Modernist’s excellent talks, and Eddy agreed to an interview. Here’s what he had to say on The Four Diktats.
