Film Photography For Your Wall
Category: Make it Yourself
I recently posted a Reel on Instagram about returning to film photography. Specifically, processing slide film in chemicals designed for negative film. Here’s a brief explanation.
I used to be pretty active in various groups on flickr then lost the habit.
I’ve got the top one - I call it Date Night Car Wash for obvious reasons - in my loo.
Probably prompted by staring at this for yet another moment, a week or so back I got the urge to take some more photos. I dug out my trusty Minolta X300, loaded up some out of date film and started shooting. It wasn’t like riding a bike. I’d forgotten how to manage the idiosyncracies of the camera, not least that the ISO gauge is loose (this problem) and the shutter sometimes refuses to release.
So it was a little predictable that the results were underwhelming
Thankfully, as is often the case, there were a few keepers. Perhaps not pleasing enough to put on the wall, but it feels good to be reconnecting with the habit.
Here’s hoping the next roll has something worthy of the loo wall.
