A short, random selection this week. Random as in I’m more than a little obsessed with lighting, in all its forms, so that’s mostly what we’ve got.
the obligatory candle thing
This candelabra looks like it could’ve been part of some other piece of furniture, a component that has come adrift from it’s teammates. It reminds me of clothes rails that slot together and then fall apart when you try to move them. I love it. Bidding currently at £27.
Loco in Acapulco
My upstairs neighbour serves biscuits on plates from this Villeroy and Boch line. I have a soft spot for it. The poppy 60s illustrations remind me of the Magpie titles. A whole coffee set, like this, might be a little visually overwhelming, but if you like the design there are plenty of single items listed by other sellers.
a heath robinson lamp
This isn’t a Heath Robinson invention, obviously. But with those multiple articulations it could have been. I’m also thinking Inspector Gadget. I’m sure the multiple articulations made it very useful in its intended home (French factories and workshops, apparently).
JACK the budget
A Tom Dixon Jack light? Yes, please. Not sure why I didn’t get one of these when they first came out way back when. They were probably too expensive while I was still drowning in my recently graduated penury. I’ve always wanted one. Perhaps now is my moment. Not sure I want to drop over £600 on one, though.
That’s it. Happy hunting!
